Professor Chu
Professor, Jiao-Ling Chu is a man of contradictions—an absent-minded scholar with a mind as sharp as a blade, a seeker of knowledge who refuses to be confined by the ivory tower. His brilliance in both chemistry and physics earned him the rare privilege of studying under two scientific titans: Nobel laureate Svante Arrhenius and J.J. Thomson, the discoverer of the electron. Yet, for all his academic achievements, it is his relentless pursuit of the unknown that defines him.

In 1902, Katadesis recognised Chu’s exceptional potential and welcomed him into their fellowship. But where others might have been content to study within its hidden halls, Chu could not be bound. He became one of their most esteemed field agents—an explorer of the written word, scouring the world for lost knowledge, unearthing ancient manuscripts, and securing some of Katadesis’ most coveted artefacts. His curiosity knows no limits, and his tenacity has earned him both acclaim and formidable enemies.

Beneath his mild-mannered demeanour lies a mind that sees patterns where others see chaos. Loyal to his cause, relentless in his search, Professor Chu believes knowledge is the greatest treasure of all—and he will stop at nothing to protect it.

Chu smiled. “When looking for answers, I always find it is best to start with the obvious and move outward. Whatever is left, however far from our understanding, generally has some merit if not the answer itself.”
