Being selected as the Guardian of the Temple at Chin Ho is a prestigious honour given to a few families. In return, they must send their child to join the guard at the tender age of seven. There, the child undergoes intensive academic and martial training. Each year, out of the fifty children chosen, only five rise to become Daho or young warriors. From these, an even smaller number are handpicked for the demanding preparation needed to ascend to the revered ranks of the Guardians. This elite force is entrusted with the unwavering duty of safeguarding the temple.

While Guardians serve for a decade, the prestige and respect accompanying the role last a lifetime. Huang has reached the apex of this noble path, ascending to the distinguished position of Moa Ta, the commander of this exceptional fighting force.
